Six finalists will be selected based on number of online votes and ratings with input from Barefoot Books staff and other distinguished judges.
On 6 December, finalists are invited to the Barefoot Books office in Bath for the final round of judging and a storytelling workshop with leading performance storyteller Daniel Morden.
Barefoot will pay transportation expenses for the child and one parent/guardian to attend the final round of the competition.
Grand Prize Winner, Best Entry Submitted by a School (could also be Grand Prize Winner) and two runners-up will be selected by judges.
The Grand Prize winner will receive a weekend trip to New York City, with two nights hotel and airfare expenses paid by Barefoot Books.
The First runner-up will receive a £100 theatre ticket voucher; the Second runner-up will receive a £50 theatre ticket voucher. Each of their schools will each receive a collection of Barefoot Books worth £200.
The Grand Prize winner, as well as the two runners-up, will have the opportunity to perform in a national storytelling festival in early 2009.
